Michigan synagogue attack suspect had family killed in Israeli strike, Lebanese officials say

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/5MyGtwX Officials in Lebanon say several family members of the man who is suspected of ramming a vehicle into a Michigan synagogue on Thursday, were killed in an Israeli strike recently. FBI officials revealed Friday, that 41-year-old Ayman Mohamed Ghazali — a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Lebanon — was responsible for the attack and shot himself in the head during a gunfight with a security officer at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield. Despite reports that Ghazali’s two brothers were killed during Israeli military operations in Lebanon — amid the unfolding war in the Middle East — the FBI said it would be “irresponsible” to speculate the assailant’s motive prior to the conclusion of their full investigation. Ghazali drove a vehicle through the doors and down a hallway of Temple Israel. The vehicle caught fire and emergency responders found explosives in the vehicle. A security officer was briefly knocked unconscious and no casualties were reported. “I think we're becoming deaf to what's happening,” a local Rabbi said on the incident. “We see these events, and we file them away, and we start to assume they're normal. And the worst thing we could do is normalize violence,” he added.
