“We’ve been displaced for over 15 years”: civilians exhausted after ceasefire broken in Aleppo

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChLtXXpo4Ge1ReTEboVvTDg https://ift.tt/fK80TRP Syria's interim government launched a security operation in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maksoud district on Friday, accusing the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) of violating a withdrawal agreement. The dispute revived clashes with shelling and gunfire in parts of Aleppo after the SDF refused to withdraw from districts they’ve controlled since 2011. Amid the conflict, local authorities formed humanitarian corridors for civilians to flee from the front lines. “We’ve been displaced for over 15 years,” one angry local resident said, “This is unacceptable. We don’t know where to live, where to stay, where to go.” At least 22 civilians have been killed and more than 140,000 have fled their homes.
