According to the SIU, Durham Regional Police responded to a residence on Cedar Street in Oshawa at approximately 11 a.m. Sunday for a mental health call. Shortly after arriving, officers encountered a 27-year-old man who allegedly had a knife. The SIU says during an interaction, one officer fired their weapon multiple times, hitting both the suspect and another officer.
