"It’s a disaster": Kosovo battles floods, blackouts as heavy rains lash country

It is very dangerous, there is a huge amount of water (from the rain), and even the river is unable to take all this water. It’s a disaster,” said Fejza Haziraj, a resident of Gllogovc.   The mayor of Gllogovc, Ramiz Lladrovci, apologized to local residents because they had to cut power themselves for safety reasons. "We have been forced to cut off the electrical power due to the risk that if the water reaches this electric station, it will endanger the entire power station for an extended period."   Meanwhile,  in the village of Kuzmin, Blirim Gashi, a member of the rescue team for surface waters, said, "The temperature is expected to drop even more tonight and become colder," and they are trying to help the citizens.
