A large sum of supporters – including fellow comedians and longtime fans – spoke out Thursday, condemning the network’s action against Kimmel. Some even joined picket lines, protesting ABC, Disney Studios, and the U.S. government. “Nobody should have the mic just pulled out of their hand and told what you're saying is no longer relevant. That's unfair to all of us,” comedian Dane Cook said. “Comedy is the last vestige of free speech that we have. It's the first wall of defense. It's what tyranny always takes away first, right?” noted comic Tehran Von Ghasri.
